Joe Weider (1919 - 2013)
It is a sad time for the bodybuilding world as yesterday seen the passing of Joe Weider. Joe was a pioneer and icon in the bodybuilding scene, often referred to as the Godfather of Fitness. He was the co-founder of the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB), has created fitness equipment and supplement lines, and established Weider Publications who's publication empire includes Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers, Flex, Shape, and Men's Fitness. Joe grew up in Montreal Canada, and also staged the first Mr. Canada event in 1946 with the help of his business partner and brother, Ben Weider.
