Chocolate Cake Squares


Are you a chocolate lover? These Chocolate Cake Squares are moist and delicious,
a must try for those looking for a healthier chocolate dessert option. This
Food Friday recipe is gluten free and is also made without refined sugar or butter.
Make into squares like the recipe, or try as a cake or cupcakes.

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 8 eggs
- 1/2 cup coconut oil (in liquid form)
- 2/3 cup honey or agave

Directions:

- preheat oven to 350º
- prepare an 8" x 8" glass dish by greasing with coconut oil.
- in a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients (coconut flour, cocoa, baking soda, sea salt).
- in a small bowl whisk together the wet ingredients (eggs, coconut oil, honey).
Note: If heating the coconut oil to liquid, ensure it has slightly cooled before mixing with the other ingredients. If the oil is too hot it will begin to cook the eggs.)


- pour this wet mixture into the dry mixture and whisk until smooth.
- pour the batter into the prepared glass dish.


- bake for approximately 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes clean when poked into the centre of the cakes.
- leave the cake in the glass dish to cool.
- cut into squares and enjoy!


- makes 16 squares.
